Prepare the place for sleeping. It's better to buy a big one, puppies are growing very fast. It's better if the cover of a dog's bed can be easily changed and washed. It will be very nice if you'll prepare the places where your ridgeback may lay in every room of your house where he can go during the day. Ridgebacks are companions and will follow you everywhere.

The cups for food and water. Choose the ones you can see on the picture below. Do not put the cups too high - the neck of the dog must be horizontal or little bit down. The best volume of the cups for a ridgeback is 2,8 litres.

Toys are very important. Toys help to communicate the owner with his dog: sometimes we "make a change" from toy to a thing that is not sutable for a dog (for example shoe); some toys may be used as a place where you can hide something very tasty and your dog will play with it for many hours while you are absent at home. Soft toys are better. Do not buy a ball made from hard rubber. Do not allow your dog to play with plastik bottles!!! Teeth are sliping on plastik and dog's underjew is moving forward. The bite may become incorrect!!! Do not give your dog all toys in the same time. Hide some of them and after some time give them again - your dog will be happy with this "new" old toy again!

You must cut the nails regulary (1 time in 2-3 weeks) to prevent the flat paws. It's important to do this with puppies so they could used to this procedure. Clean the coat if it is necessary. Teeth also must be cleaned regulaty (after changing ). Teeth stones can cause different deseases. Clean ears with special lotionfor ears if they got derty.
